15 Aug 1766:42 (515)
The following Lines (wrote by a Youth Aer. 16.) were
designed for the Consolation of the late Rev. Dr. Mayhew's
Spouse.
  Whilst I attempt in fun'ral verse
  Great Mayhew's virtues to reherse
  Assist me, O Uranus! send your lays
  That I with you may celebrate his praise.
. . . [10 more lines]
  He always made the widow's heart rejoice,
  And caus'd the fatherless to lift their voice
  And sing......... Lord! on him send
  Those heavenly blessings which may never end.
. . . [10 more lines]
  He's gone 'tis true, but to that glorious place
  Where joys forever dwell, and sorrows cease.
  Methinks! I see him with th' angelic choir
  Chanting the praises of his heav'nly sire;
  Participating of those heav'nly sweets
  Which Christ obtained by his bloody sweats.
